1. Less Noise
Analog signals are subject to noise and disruption, whereas digital signals are of higher quality and are robust to noise. I for one am happy to not hear the static noise after accidentally switching to a channel not in use! With digital, I don’t have to worry about changing the radio to the wrong station or losing a call, I am able to have a high quality conversation!
2. Produces Exact Answers
A digital system will always be able to give you the exact answer to a problem. An analog solution has the ability to be accurate but there is a higher chance of coming to the wrong answer as it is prone to human error. Digital systems are able to process lots of information quickly and accurately. While using analog, the more information someone has to process the more likely that something will get missed or computed incorrectly. For example, during World War II the machines made to be a part of the bombing process had over 2,000 parts. Unfortunately, something with this many parts is impossible to not have any errors.
3. Repeatable
Imagine trying to do a math equation, you think you have finally cracked how to solve it! But then you do the math again to make sure and you get a slightly different answer so you try it again, and again you get a new answer! This is how an analog system works (especially as they get more complex), you never get the same answer because of slight error. Now, think about using the digital systems we have in place today. Over and over again you will get the same answer from the problem that you are trying to solve! Having a system that is able to be repeatable is more of a necessity than we might think, without this a lot of simple things in our lives would not be possible.
In conclusion, we should all be very happy that we made the jump from analog to digital!
